NWebsec 1.0.3 The Security library for ASP.NET
NWebsec is a security library for ASP.NET applications. It’s built on the philosophy that security should be simple and maintainable.
The current version includes a configurable HttpModule that adds security headers to the HTTP responses from an ASP.NET application and lets you suppress version headers commonly emitted by ASP.NET applications. See Documentation for details. The module is easy to install and easy to configure. So give it a try!
If you’re not sure what “security headers” are and what they can do for you, we strongly suggest that you check out this blog post: Security through HTTP response headers.
See Configuring security headers to dive straight into the details of the security headers. NWebsec helps manage security HTTP heades for both Web Forms and MVC 3/4 applications.
Did you know that NWebsec can help you meet SDL requirements? No? See NWebsec and the SDL!
You’ll find the NWebsec packages on NuGet:
The NuGet package will update your web.config file to include the NWebsec configuration section. However, all functionality is disabled by default to avoid instant breakage of your application. Enable the features you need and want. Different apps have different requirements.
Check out the Configuration page to see what the NWebsec configuration section looks like.
Nwebsec has been built for versions 3.5 and 4.0/4.5 of the .NET framework. Earlier versions aren’t supported due to the dependency on System.Web.Abstractions for simplified unit testing.
