John the Ripper v1.7.8-jumbo-7 Released
John the Ripper is free and Open Source software, distributed primarily in source code form. If you would rather use a commercial product tailored for your specific operating system, please consider John the Ripper Pro, which is distributed primarily in the form of “native” packages for the target operating systems and in general is meant to be easier to install and use while delivering optimal performance.

- (enabled when building against OpenSSL 0.9.8+ only), with optional OpenMP

- PoC support for DES-based 10-character tripcodes has been added (does

- The DIGEST-MD5 authentication cracker has been revised to be usable

- Highly experimental support for dynamically loaded plugins (adding new

- Added the ability for the john.conf file to “.include” other .conf
- files and/or individual sections (e.g., a wordlist rules section may
