PacketFence v2.2.1 released
PacketFence is a fully supported, trusted, Free and Open Source network access control (NAC) system. Boasting an impressive feature set including a captive-portal for registration and remediation, centralized wired and wireless management, 802.1X support, layer-2 isolation of problematic devices, integration with the Snort IDS and the Nessus vulnerability scanner; PacketFence can be used to effectively secure networks – from small to very large heterogeneous networks.
Minor release focusing on stability. There’s new hardware support: AeroHIVE AP, Dlink DES3550, DGS3200, and HP ProCurve 5400 series. Improved support for ExtremeNetworks Summit series. Enhancements include an improved user experience with iPod, iPhone, and iPad, performance improvements, documentation updates, and other minor polish. Issues fixed include a very important Cisco problem related to Voice over IP, a node expiration problem, Nortel switch problems, and some installer errors.
